Animation Personal Trainer #2 Shots

22-Jan-2006 By Aron

This is a collection of the best stuff I did with Keith Lango on the Animation Personal Trainer Program. Keith put together a reel of all the students if you want to check that out. The APT is an 8 week course consisteing of given exercises and video feedback session and webcam conversation. I highly recomend it, when an animator wants some awesomely awesome awesomness.

Video in Quicktime or Windows Media, image links to QT.

Pesky Rig

My main character rig for my short film, Pesky. Much more stable and efficient than the pencil, and with more features. Which I won't list. Video shows most stuff the rig has.

Ahh the choices, Quicktime, Windows Media or YouTube?

Pencil Rig

OK so its not animation but so what I got nowhere else to put it. This is my first attempt at a descent character rig. I could list the features here but I best let the video do it. One thing is that I wish looking back that i had given this rig optional FK in the spine and arms. Thanks to Judith Arnold for the design.

There's a Quicktime Version or a Windows Media Version and a Alternate YouTube Link

Mini Ball Obsticle Course

In the style of Animation Mentor, I descided to do some exercises in the basics of the concepts of the mechanics of motion. This is the first of a few of these styles of exercises. I wanted to donate some idea of life within this ball, thats why it floats a few extra frames at its peaks. Alternate YouTube Link

Anxiety - happysack.org Micro Challenge - Azz

Here is my first entry into a community challenge, the happysack micro challenge #1 July 2006: Anxiety. The brief can be found in the forum thread, as can all the entried and WIP's. Anyway my intention was to only animate the guy. I'm happy with my idea which was a man that is anxious to speak to a women is surprised to see she is more than she initially appears. UPDATE: I won!!! I guess pigs do fly. Alternate YouTube Link

Generirig "Funky Walk"

This is a walk cycle I made as first of a series of themed walk using Generirig, credits to Andrew Silke for the amazing rig. This walk was intended to be funky, as if he is extremely confident about himself and his presence, and he's quite possibly from the 1970's. Comments, questions and criticisms welcome. BlobEye Test 'Happy'

Here I tried to show a father looking for an emotional response from his son, only to have his son jump for joy unexpectedly, part of a continuing series of animation tests to improve our understandings of the principles and performance in animation. Credit to Jason Theaker, our animation tutor for the use of his model. Thanks Jason for all your help in our journey towards animation pure coolness. Alternate YouTube Link
